Triclosan in your Big Corporation’s Toothpaste Line

Triclosan

Synthesized under a reflux process, 2,4,4′-trichloro-2′-methoxydiphenyl ether is treated with aluminium chloride.

Triclosan can be synthesized through a three-step process starting with 1-(2-hydroxyethyl)pyrrolidin-2-one. The 1-(2-hydroxyethyl)pyrrolidin-2-one is dehydrated with either zinc or calcium oxide into 1-vinylpyrrolidin-2-one. Then, 1-vinylpyrrolidin-2-one can be reacted with 5-chloro-2-(2,4-dichlorophenoxy)phenyl acrylate in n-heptane to form triclosan.  Then you put it in your mouth if you use Colgate Total Toothpaste.  As an alternative you can use Blackpaste products that employ Expeller pressed Coconut Oil which provides copious amounts of Lauric Acid, natures most powerful anti-microbial…the same anti-microbial found in Mother’s milk
